Nominations are now open for the 2025 Women of Influence Awards, presented by Peace Diagnostic Imaging. 

 NEW this year, the City of Grande Prairie has introduced new award categories:

 Next Generation Award: Recognizing young women demonstrating exceptional promise, leadership, and impact in their community or field.
 
Game Changer Award: Celebrating women disrupting norms, challenging the status quo, and paving the way in their field or community.

Workplace Leadership Award: Honoring women who excel in leadership roles, fostering growth and inclusion within the workplace.

Community Leadership Award: Recognizing women making significant contributions to the betterment of their community.

Lifetime Impact Award: Honoring women whose enduring contributions have left a lasting legacy in their field or community.

Submit your nominations by January 24.

Nominations are now open for the City of Grande Prairie’s Women of Influence Awards 2025 presented by Peace Diagnostic Imaging, now featuring five award categories to recognize women across various sectors in the community. 

The Women of Influence Awards seek to recognize the women driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the region, creating opportunity for everyone in Grande Prairie. The awards highlight women who are championing gender equality, breaking barriers in their field, achieving new heights and advocating for greater access for all. 

The nomination categories for 2025 are:

• Next Generation Award: Recognizing young women demonstrating exceptional promise, leadership, and impact in their community or field.

• Game Changer Award: Celebrating women disrupting norms, challenging the status quo, and paving the way in their field or community. 

• Workplace Leadership Award: Honoring women who excel in leadership roles, fostering growth and inclusion within the workplace.

• Community Leadership Award: Recognizing women making significant contributions to the betterment of their community.

• Lifetime Impact Award: Honoring women whose enduring contributions have left a lasting legacy in their field or community.

Applications are available at cityofgp.com/WOI and open until January 24, 2025.

About the Awards

The Women of Influence Awards were created to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) in Grande Prairie while celebrating women’s achievements and promoting equal opportunity for all.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an event recognized worldwide to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to advocate for the continued advancements of equal rights. 

The theme for International Women's Day 2025 is #AccelerateAction, which calls on everyone to unite in efforts to speed up women's equality worldwide. According to the World Economic Forum, it will take 134 years to achieve full gender parity at the current rate of progress. It’s time to Accelerate Action to make meaningful strides toward equality, giving everyone an opportunity to thrive. 

The awards are made possible through partnership between the City of Grande Prairie, Northwestern Alberta Foundation, Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce and Odyssey House.
