It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Sask (nee Carlstad), longtime resident of Grande Prairie, AB, announces her passing on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the age of 64 years.
Gloria was born on July 9, 1956, to Ruth and Ordian Carlstad and raised on the family farm in Valhalla, AB. She attended Valhalla School, Hythe Junior High, and graduated from the Beaverlodge Regional High School.
Gloria worked at several businesses in Grande Prairie after graduating. She owned her own small vending machine business for nine years. Gloria always overcame her health issues and made everyone feel special. She was very reserved until she got to know you. Her infectious smile and laugh will be remembered by all who knew her. Gloria’s love for cats always had a special place in her heart.
Gloria married Joseph Sask in 1975. She is survived by her husband Joseph; son Wade of Grande Prairie; daughter Karri (Garry Fraser) of Grande Prairie; sister Carol (Carl Mayer); and nephew Michael (Erin) Mayer; sisters in-law Phyllis Yelenik, and Joan Sask; brothers in-law Ken (Maureen) Sask, Gerry (Pam) Sask, David (Bonnie) Sask, and Darcy (Barb) Sask; as well as many nieces and nephews from the Sask family.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents Ruth and Ordian Carlstad; niece Kelli Mayer; as well as many aunts and uncles of the Carlstad family and Peterson family; mother in-law Jean Sask and father in-law Bill Sask; brother in-law Harvey Sask; sister in-law Vivian Shyry; as well as many aunts, uncles in-law, nieces, and nephews from the very large Sask and Willard families.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
