Storm & Wolverines renew hostilities in home and home

Following a dominant 9-2 win Wednesday night over the Lloydminster Bobcats, the Grande Prairie Storm will return to the ice Friday evening as they host their Highway 43 rivals, the Whitecourt Wolverines.

This will be just the 3rd meeting of the season between the two clubs, with road team winning both games so far.

Grande Prairie goes into Friday’s game with a 21-20-2 record on the year, which is good for 5th in the AJHL’s North division.

Whitecourt on the other hand knocked off Lloydminster 5-3 Tuesday night to lift their record to 18-24-2.

The Wolverines currently sit in 7th and in the final playoff spot in the North division.

This weekend is crucial for both clubs as they look to position themselves in the standings.

Grande Prairie 5 points back of Fort McMurray for 4th in the division while Whitecourt is 5 points back of Drayton Valley for 6th.

Puck drop between the Wolverines and Storm is at 7:30 p.m.
