Court update: Jail time in drug case, charges against three energy companies withdrawn
Two of the people charged in a drug arrest in March of 2019 in Grande Prairie have been given jail time.
Alberta Justice says Taylor Marie Leslie was given two years in jail after pleading guilty to a pair of possession for the purpose of trafficking charges September 28 in Grande Prairie court.
In June, co-accused Caiden MacKinnon was also given a two-year jail sentence after pleading guilty to charges of trafficking a controlled substance, careless use or storage of a firearm, and breach of recognizance. He had already been given a four-year term for an armed robbery at a west-side hotel in October of 2018.
Leslie and MacKinnon were charged after an ALERT bust March 15, 2019. Two homes were searched and cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, heroin, GHB, steroids, cash, a shotgun, and a rifle were all seized.
