County administration building added to COVID-19 outbreak list

The County of Grande Prairie office has been added to Alberta Health’s COVID-19 outbreak list Tuesday, having surpassed ten cases linked to the site.

Alberta Health says a total of 17 cases have been identified there, four of which are active while 13 have recovered.

The County Administration and Public Works buildings have been closed to the public since March 30 due to the initial positive cases being identified.

An update on previously reported outbreaks in the Grande Prairie area can be found below:

  • Gardens at Emerald Park: three cases (one active, two recovered)
  • Canadian Brew House: 13 cases (two active, 11 recovered)
  • Reed Energy Group Inc: 13 cases (seven active, six recovered)
  • Royal Camp Services 18 cases (eight active, 10 recovered)
  • Rotary House, Grande Prairie 27 cases (one active, 26 recovered)
  • Stepping Stones South Daycare: five cases (all recovered)
  • Walmart, Grande Prairie 16 cases (two active, 14 recovered

Outbreaks at shelters and child care settings are publicly reported when there are five or more cases. All other non-healthcare workplaces, events, public settings (restaurants, salons and gyms) and sports activities are listed when there are 10 or more cases linked to them.

Outbreaks are declared over when four weeks have passed since the last case was identified.
