Firefighters checking properties affected by Shaftesbury Trail fire, scheduled power outages

The MD of Peace says that today (Friday, April 26) firefighters will be checking each property affected by the Shaftesbury Trail Fire.

Fire crews will be inspecting a 100-foot radius around all properties to keep residents in the area safe and to check for hot spots and flare ups.

The municipality reminds people to report any hotspots or flare ups they see immediately by calling the MD office at 780-338-3845 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. After hours call 780-618-8256.

The fire is still being classified as held at 1,500 hectares.

ATCO successfully restored power to the main line yesterday and still has scheduled outages today (Friday) and Saturday to repair damaged poles and lines. The scheduled outages are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
