Fire Advisory in effect for Grande Prairie Forest Area

A Fire Advisory is now in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

Effective 2:00 p.m. Monday July 8, fire permits for heavy burning and fireworks will not be issued, existing heavy burning permits are suspended, and new fire permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis for light burning only.

Alberta Wildfire says the wildfire hazard rating is Very High for the Grande Prairie Forest Area and daytime highs will over 30 degrees Celsius with overnight lows nearing 14 degrees.
