City offering heat safety tips to residents and visitors

Jul 10, 2024 | 12:34 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is reminding residents of ways to stay safe in the heat.

The City recommends taking indoor breaks away from the sun, and offers several City facilities as location you can stop by and cool off at, including the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion, the Grande Prairie Museum, Eastlink Centre, and Design Works Centre.

Splash pads are also available at Lions and Muskoseepi park, with the City expanding their hours of operation to 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM until further notice.

The City recommends wearing SPF 30 sunscreen or higher while outside and to drink plenty of water to keep yourself safe during higher temperature weather.
