Peace region wildfire danger ranging from high to extreme

Due to recent and forecasted hot temperatures, the risk of a wildfire remains high.

According to Alberta Wildfire, areas of the Peace region range from high, very high and extreme, with three active blazes: Slims Creek, Bison Lake and one south of Beaverlodge, all listed as under control.

Further south, crews are still actively battling an out-of-control blaze in the Whitecourt Forest Area.

At this time, a fire restriction remains in place for both the City and County of Grande Prairie.
